Father Alfred Smith

We lost a great man of faith and friendship on Christmas night – Father Al.

I join other saddened folks with the solace that he passed in his sleep, after a family gathering.

Father Al wasn’t a young man, though he was very much a young-at-heart as a life is good role model.

How often does a retired priest help a high-schooler gain an internship for a NFL team?  My answer is “at least once.”

Our son’s career start was enabled by this special man that dressed like mother, yet was called father in his career.

We miss you Father Al; yet the streets of heaven gained a saint on Christmas night.
